To signify their position as a leading lighting manufacturer, Hubbell Lighting's new corporate headquarters is a dynamic facility that reflects their dedication to innovation and technology. (LEED Silver certification)
The five-story structure is a multi-functional 187,000 SF facility. It includes Class-A office space, laboratory and testing space, a lighting showroom, training center, cafeteria and 70-seat auditorium.
The design conveys a sense of movement and depth to showcase the use of excellent lighting principles. This is immediately evident in the Pre-Function Area where lighting amplifies the rich textures of the stone wall and contoured carpet. The halo “ring of light” motif repeats throughout the building - in the building volumes, ceilings, floor patterns and even carpet texture. Custom carpet tiles energize with pattern while facilitating wayfinding with color. Smooth sleek porcelain tiles and heavily textured carpets showcase the lighting - the nature of the business.
The design team worked with Bonitz beginning early in the project. Bonitz large design center provided an open space for the project team to meet. They could organize and review the options, and later, display the final scheme for each floor. Since the original construction in 2006, Bonitz Flooring and Bonitz Ceilings & Walls have been invited back for numerous renovation projects.
